Templates for design provided on request. It is recommended to use a template so that you or your artist will follow proper design guidelines
Preparing Files For Your Artwork:
To make sure that your artwork turns out well, please follow these design guidelines.
RESOLUTION:
All images and file formats must have a minimum of 350 dot per inch (dpi) resolution. NOTE: print images are different from web images. Web images are designed at low resolution of 72 dpi, while print images need to be created at 350 dpi. Anything less than 350 dpi resolution will result in a substantial drop in image quality.
FILE FORMAT:
We prefer PDF files, however, we do accept the following file formats (TIFF, JPG, EPS, PNG, AI, PSD, and PDF).
FILE SIZE FOR UPLOAD:
Please limit combined file size to 50MB (megabytes). Anything larger will not be processed.
COLOR MODE:
Unlike the web, all color images, artwork must be provided in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color mode. If you will be submitting black & white images / artwork – please provide these in gray scale color mode. (Heavy black ink might cause smearing.)
BLEED:
We require all files to be built with a bleed. Like all printers, during the trimming process, your file may experience slight shifting. A bleed is the portion of the file that gets cut off, and makes sure that you don’t see a white line on your product.
Here is a list of products and the corresponding bleed dimensions:
ADD 0.1” inch bleed to each dimension (or 0.05” inch bleed on all four sides)
1.) Business cards
2.) Bookmarks
3.) Facebook & Social Media cards
4.) Postcards
5.) Rack cards
6.) Referral cards
7.) RIP business cards
8.) School Excuse cards
ADD 0.125” inch bleed to each dimension (or 0.0625” bleed on all four sides) for the following products:
1.) Envelopes
2.) Letterhead
3.) Vinyl banners
Add 0.225″ bleed to each dimension (or 0.1125″ bleed on all four sides) for the following products:
1.) Presentation folders
CROP MARKS:
When possible please design your files with crop marks, to indicate where the paper should be cut to produce the correct size.
FONTS:
Please follow the appropriate instructions for fonts:
1.) Fonts must be embedded in PDF files
2.) Fonts must be outlined or converted to paths or curves in EPS files
3.) Due to copyright instructions, some fonts can’t be embedded
SAFE ZONE:
We have templates available should you be designing your own print material. However, please be aware, that all critical elements (images, text, logos, etc.) must be kept within 0.125” inch of the edge. Anything close to the edge may get cut off during trimming.
BORDERS:
Please allow 1/16″ cutting space around your card. No borders are recommended, as shifting in the cutting process may make borders appear uneven.
Disclaimer: Please use one of our dental design templates wherever possible. This will ensure that your file or artwork will come out correct.
